How it works
Your child creates a player using only a first name or nickname, then chooses the Cute, Spooky, Swamp or Punk version of Monster World before setting off from their own Monster Den. Every learning area becomes a place to visit rather than another worksheet to finish.
The adventure remembers your child’s progress, brings back topics that need another go and keeps separate profiles for every child in your family.
Enter a name, choose Cute, Spooky, Swamp or Punk scenery, select Happy or Grumpy monster faces and use the device voices that feel most comfortable.
Travel through a subject world, take on a short challenge and ask a friendly guide for help.
Collect progress, revisit tricky skills and meet 24 earnable monster friends—starting after the very first completed adventure.
Choose the whole atmosphere
Your child can choose the version of Monster World that feels most like theirs, with cute or grumpy-looking monsters to suit them. They can pick a different monster for each section and switch anytime. Meet both looks below.
Sunny paths, storybook colour and the original friendly monster crew.
Moonlit castles, glowing crystals and playful ghosts—atmospheric, never frightening.
Boardwalks, lanterns and mossy hideaways for children who like their worlds a little wilder.
New line-up
Bold colour, music-stage energy, patched denim and a tougher-looking—but still friendly—monster crew.
Punk friends to earn
Four extra Punk monsters are joining the earnable pool, spread across the learning milestones. Like every other friend, they are unlocked by completing adventures—not by getting every answer right.
Their adventure. Their monster crew.
Your child can choose cute or grumpy-looking monsters from the Cute, Spooky, Swamp and Punk collections. Mix their favourites across the adventure and choose a different monster for every learning section. And earn new monster friends as they go.
A smiling crew for children who like their learning companions soft, colourful and cheerful.
Grumpy looks, with the same helpful guidance. Your child chooses the faces they enjoy spending time with.
A cute friend for Number City, a grumpy guide for Reading Realms, or a mix of styles across all the sections. Your child can swap their monster choices whenever they like, without losing learning progress.
Earn 24 new monster friends as they learn. Your child unlocks their first new friend after their very first completed adventure, with more to earn as they keep going. Every earned friend comes in Happy and Grumpy looks and can join them in any learning section.
Our story
From one family’s kitchen table to your child’s next little breakthrough.
We’re parents of a ten-year-old daughter. When we realised she had substantial gaps in her school learning, we wanted a way to help her practise that felt encouraging and manageable.
We were also frustrated by how expensive learning apps can become—and by families being tied into yet another monthly subscription. We kept asking ourselves: why shouldn’t a useful revision app simply have one affordable fee and belong to your family for life?
So we made SATS Monster World for her. It has been working so well for our family that we shared it with some of her friends.
Now we’re sharing it more widely with families who could use that support. If your child has topics they find tricky, or could use a little more confidence, we hope this becomes a helpful part of their learning too.
Created by parents, with your child in mind.
Let your child try it before you decide.
At launch, download SATS Monster World free and let your child explore 100 questions, worked tutorials and the starter adventure. See whether they find it engaging and want to keep going. If they do, simply unlock the full app for £7.99 once for your whole family. No monthly fees. No subscription. No pressure to upgrade.
Try it free first. If your child enjoys it, simply unlock the full app. One £7.99 lifetime family unlock. No monthly fees, no subscription and no adverts.
Adventure rewards
Completing an adventure counts even when your child uses help or makes mistakes. Your child’s existing progress counts too, and every earned friend can join them in any learning land.
Video guides
Three concise walkthroughs will show you and your child exactly what to expect. The players are ready for final screen recordings and voiceover.
Production note Video slots are built into this preview. Final MP4/WebM screen recordings and voiceover are the next media task.
The learning world
The map gives each skill a memorable setting. Your child can understand where they are, what they are practising and what they have already achieved.
Markets, trams and a clock tower turn number practice into a place with a purpose.
UK learning stages
SATS Monster World is closely tied to the way children learn in the UK. The wider platform is designed to support revision across Key Stages 1, 2 and 3, while the current app preview begins with its deepest coverage in KS2.
It supports practice and consolidation; it is not a replacement for classroom teaching or professional educational support.
Confident number sense, core language patterns and the habits that make practice feel manageable.
Maths, Reading, Grammar, Punctuation and Spelling, with short quests and a substantial practice bank.
Keep core knowledge moving forward and make the transition to more independent revision feel familiar.
Educational benefits
Topics that need another go can return later, so mistakes become part of the route rather than the end of it.
Small quest stages make it easier to practise a skill without confronting a long, intimidating worksheet.
Compatible device voices can read names and interface content aloud, with comfort choices saved to each profile.
Hints and explanations support understanding, while written responses can wait for a grown-up’s review.
The bank combines independently authored material with cleared, released STA questions under the Open Government Licence.
Your child keeps their own den, settings, learning history and rewards. Each sibling has a separate adventure.
A separate app for grown-ups
Monster World Parents is designed as a companion Android app, keeping your controls outside your child’s adventure.
Ring-fenced by design
The child app is designed to work offline in its own ring-fenced environment. There is no web browser, advertising, public profile, open chat or route into outside online content.
You stay in control. Any educational settings or reward changes are decided by you and made through the linked Parents app—not by your child.

Built with care
Curriculum-aware: the current evidence map follows UK learning objectives, with especially detailed Year 3–6 and KS2 coverage.
Transparent sources: original exercises sit alongside released Standards and Testing Agency material reused under the Open Government Licence.
Ring-fenced and offline: the child’s adventure is designed to work offline without open internet access. Optional private family linking lets a parent send approved learning and reward changes from the separate Parents app.
SATS Monster World is independent and is not endorsed by the Department for Education or the Standards and Testing Agency.
