Purchase Terms

Draft version 1 · Prepared 23 October 2026 · UK consumer purchases

Draft for review before launch. Neither app is being sold through this page. These proposed terms must be finalised against the released app, support arrangements and store checkout before purchases open. Any final terms and product information will be available before you pay.

1. Who supplies the apps

The trader is Paul Hupfield, an individual. Pushing Pixels is the name used for these projects, not a separate legal entity. In these terms, “we”, “us” and “our” mean Paul Hupfield.

Postal contact: Paul Hupfield, 22 Greenbank, PL23 1QR, United Kingdom.
Email: paul@pushingpixels.studio.

Product support: gcse@pushingpixels.studio for GCSE AURA; satsmonster@pushingpixels.studio for SATS Monster World.

2. What you buy

Purchases are for a parent or guardian aged 18 or over, for personal family use. An unlock is a licence to use the content described at checkout in the named app, through the linked family account. It does not transfer copyright or permit resale or redistribution.

These are launch plans. Before payment, the store and purchase screen must show the actual content, supported courses, price including applicable taxes, device requirements, family-sharing limits and material online dependencies. That description forms part of your purchase. We cannot use this draft to reduce a purchase already made on more favourable terms.

These unlocks have no subscription or automatic renewal. Separate apps and optional future products are not included unless expressly stated at purchase. A new version or rebranding will not by itself cancel an existing entitlement or require you to pay again for the same promised content.

3. Meaning of “lifetime of the app”

App-lifetime access means access to the purchased entitlement for the operational life of the relevant app, subject to these terms. It refers to the app’s life, not your life or the life of a device. There is no recurring charge for the entitlement while that app operates.

It is not a promise of indefinite operation, perpetual downloads, every future feature or compatibility with every future device or operating system. Equally, it does not give us an unrestricted right to stop providing paid access whenever we choose. The description, price, circumstances of purchase and reasonable expectations about durability remain relevant.

Your legal rights come first. If paid access stops working or the app disappears unreasonably soon after purchase, “lifetime of the app” wording does not remove any statutory right to a remedy. A closure notice or expiry of a voluntary support period does not remove those rights either.

4. Support, maintenance and updates

While the app operates, we will provide email help with access, purchases and faults, and address problems necessary to meet our contractual and legal obligations. Include the app name, device model, operating-system version, purchase reference and a description of the problem. Do not send passwords, full payment details or unnecessary information about a child.

We will provide fixes and updates needed to keep the supplied content conforming to the contract for the period the law requires. We will explain material updates and any action you need to take. Install necessary updates and use supported software. We will not treat a missed update as automatically removing your rights; the reason for the fault and the information given to you matter.

Support is not a promise of round-the-clock assistance, a fixed response time, new features or indefinite upgrades. Temporary maintenance may interrupt online features; we will give advance notice where reasonably practicable and restore service as soon as reasonably possible.

5. Compatibility and online requirements

Check the specific app’s store listing and purchase screen for supported operating systems, devices, storage, accessibility features and internet requirements. The parent and learner apps may require compatible versions and a linked family account. Internet access may be needed for downloading, linking accounts, checking purchases, syncing progress or using online features; the actual requirements must be stated before payment.

An Android purchase does not automatically include an iOS purchase or cross-store transfer unless expressly offered. No compatibility with unreleased devices or operating systems is promised. However, we remain responsible for the compatibility and functionality described when you bought the content, and for any legal obligations relating to later changes.

The apps supplement teaching and revision. They do not guarantee grades or endorsement by an exam board.

6. Restoring purchases

The planned Android purchase route is Google Play Billing through the parent app. To restore an eligible unlock on a supported device, sign into the Google Play account used to buy it, install the relevant app, sign into the linked parent/family account and use its purchase-restoration option. Keep your store receipt or order reference.

Restoration restores the purchased entitlement; it does not necessarily restore local learning progress or device backups. Google Play Family Library sharing and transfers to another store or family account are not promised unless expressly stated at checkout.

If restoration fails, contact product support with your order reference. We will investigate and provide the access or remedy you are entitled to. A delisting, unavailable restoration service or store problem does not automatically extinguish your rights against the responsible trader. We will not require a second purchase simply to investigate a valid entitlement.

7. Discontinuation and material changes

We may need to retire an app or feature for a genuine reason, such as security, legal requirements, loss of an essential platform service, or inability to sustain the service. We will consider the effect on existing purchasers and alternatives before doing so.

For a planned closure, we will give reasonable advance notice through the app and website and, where we hold an appropriate contact address, direct service messages. The notice will explain the date, affected features, any available way to retain content or export progress, restoration limits and how to request a remedy. An urgent legal or security issue may require shorter notice; we will explain it as soon as reasonably possible.

We will stop new sales where we cannot reasonably deliver the advertised access. Where practical and lawful, we will consider continued offline access or a suitable replacement. You are not required to accept a materially different replacement in place of a remedy the law gives you.

We will assess any repair, replacement, price reduction, refund or other remedy required by law, including where closure defeats reasonable expectations soon after purchase. This assessment is not limited to a store’s discretionary refund window.

8. Faults, refunds and statutory remedies

Under the Consumer Rights Act 2015, paid digital content must meet the applicable requirements for satisfactory quality, fitness for a particular purpose made known and accepted, and conformity with its description.

If it does not, you may be entitled to repair or replacement at no cost, within a reasonable time and without significant inconvenience. Where that is impossible, or not provided as required, you may be entitled to a price reduction, potentially up to the full price. Other rights may apply, including a refund if we had no right to supply the content and repair or compensation for qualifying damage to your device or other digital content.

For a statutory price-reduction refund we owe, payment will be made without undue delay and within 14 days of agreeing entitlement, using the original payment method unless you expressly agree otherwise, without a refund fee. Store processing may be used to return the payment, but does not replace the applicable legal obligation.

Start with the store’s refund route or contact the relevant product support address above. Include the order reference, purchase date and problem. A store’s rejection or expiry of its discretionary refund window does not by itself decide your statutory claim. We will explain the outcome and any further route available. No “all sales final” rule applies.

9. Changing your mind and immediate supply

UK distance-purchase cancellation rights generally include a 14-day cancellation period for digital content. Where immediate supply is offered, the checkout must obtain your express consent to start supply during that period and your acknowledgement that the cancellation right will be lost once supply begins, and provide the required contract confirmation.

Simply reading these terms or buying an unlock is not a substitute for those steps. If the legal requirements are not met, your cancellation rights remain as provided by law. Losing a change-of-mind cancellation right does not affect remedies for faulty, misdescribed or otherwise non-conforming content. The store may offer additional voluntary refunds.

Where a cancellation right applies, tell us or the seller identified on your receipt clearly that you wish to cancel, giving your name, app, order reference and purchase date. You may use: “I give notice that I cancel my purchase of [content], ordered on [date], order reference [reference]. My name and address are [details].” No special wording is required.

10. Store terms, changes and disputes

The seller and payment provider identified in the store checkout or receipt may also have terms governing that transaction. Those arrangements do not remove your statutory rights or our responsibility for obligations we owe you.

The terms and description accepted at purchase govern that purchase. We will not retrospectively reduce paid entitlements through a website edit. Any necessary change must be lawful and fair, explained in advance where possible, and preserve the remedies available to you.

Nothing here excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded, including fraud or death or personal injury caused by negligence. Contact us first with a complaint so we can try to resolve it. You retain access to the courts and the mandatory consumer protections that apply where you live. These terms do not require you to bring a claim in a distant court.

Review before launch

Confirm the actual store seller, supported platforms and minimum versions, family-account rules, restoration flow, support arrangements, any minimum support commitment, closure procedure and checkout cancellation/contract-confirmation flow. Test that the delivered product fulfils every promise above. This draft does not configure those systems.
